Yan Sun lets out a lower snicker, gaze falling to her tongue. She nods, eyes wandering from point to point on Jessica's face, her teeth digging into her lower lip, bright white against deep blue. "Mhm..." she confirms with more nods. A lot of nods. "I like all of them..." she confirms before the alcohol turns her next words into a mumble, but "...sexy..." makes it through clearly before she leans in closer, lips seeking out Jessica's neck as
#ConstructionSite – February 10, 2026
A faint whirring sound comes from somewhere behind Jessica, drawing Yan Sun's attention with a puzzled "Hm?"
Yan Sun freezes as she spots a boxy gray-blue drone hovering in the air outside the unfinished building, sweeping the area. "Crap."
Jessica idly clacks her tongue ring along the back of her teeth as she watches the woman seated before her, the predatory look on her face implying her thoughts probably aren't all that far from Yan Sun's. When Yan Sun leans in, she playfully leans back, forcing her to work a little harder, but she sinks into the touch as lips meet her neck. She tilts her head, pressing a kiss against the side of Yan Sun's head, hand seeking out her
side. "Mmm?" she hums in response as Yan Sun's distraction becomes apparent, the whirring not yet registering as anything more than city sounds.
Yan Sun leans back enough to bring her left arm up between them and activate her omni-tool interface, the bright blue illumination of the holography a sharp contrast to the darkness that they surrounded by just a moment earlier. "Nonono..." she mutters distractedly as she starts to type in a hurry, the intricate dancing of her fingers a little clumsier than usual thanks to her inebriated state. Her gaze is fixed on the drone, focus entirely
Jessica blinks, Yan Sun's sudden urgency enough to dampen her buzz and she swivels in place, craning her neck to see what's got her focus. When she spots the drone, she looks between it and Yan Sun, as if unsure of what she should be doing. "Fuck-... This ith-... no good, yes?" she asks as she rises to her knees, quite confident in what the answer will be. She has to lift one of Yan Sun's legs to untangle herself, but as soon as she's
free she begins sweeping their immediate area, naturally seeking out something to, well, hit the drone with.
Yan Sun curses to herself, what normally comes easy to her a struggle under the circumstances. "No good," she confirms distractedly, her eyes on the sprawling code display of her augment reality interface.
There's a stack of metal pipe pieces that look eminently throwable on the nearby tarp by the wire spool. The drone is doubtless going to spot them soon, if it hasn't already.
Jessica shoots one last look to Yan Sun, her obvious struggle being the only cue needed for Jessica to push herself to her feet and sprint towards the stack of pipes. With reckless abandon and a lack of forethought regarding how this will play out should she even manage to hit the drone, she scoops up one of the pipes, takes a few steps towards the intruder that's interrupting their intrusion, plants her feet, and hurls the makeshift
The pipe slams into one of the drone's thrusters, denting metal and bending the articulating arm its mounted on, sending the drone into a spin. The thruster whine as it rotates rapidly and careens into the concrete edge of the building with a loud clank, sparks flying as it tumbles out of view.
Yan Sun blinks, her attempted hack coming to an abrupt stop, arm lowering into her lap. "Oh. That-.... that works." Hopefully. "Weee should probably get out of here, though..."
Jessica seems quite surprised that it actually worked. Lending one to wonder what she actually expected to happen. She, of course, hadn't thought that far ahead. After a moment of shock, mouth slightly agape, she turns towards Yan Sun. Her shoulders begin to bounce, laughter erupting out of her. "Did you fucking see that?!" she asks.
Yan Sun is already on her feet, re-packing the box. "I did," she confirms through a laugh brought on from Jessica's enthusiasm. "It was a good throw!" She kicks the box into a corner and then gets closer to Jessica, grasping her hand, her other holding the bottle of baijiu. "Really good," she repeats with an amused grin. "But we need to go. Before someone investigates."
Jessica has already moved precariously close to the edge by the time Yan Sun approaches, leaning over to try and get a look at her handy work. "Yeah-... Yeah!" she agrees distractedly as she's tugged away from the edge. She hurries alongside Yan Sun, casting one last glance towards the last known location of the drone. "Fuuuuuck!" she drawls, carried on the wings of another bout of laughter.
Yan Sun leads the way in a hurried walk back to the lift, seeming to relax a little once they're in, leaning against one of the walls and letting out a laugh as the doors close and the metal cage rattles to life. "You are much better at throwing pipes than snowballs," she comments with a lingering snicker, the first thought that popped into her head.
Jessica is still in a fit of laughter as they enter the cage, adrenaline still flowing. "Fuuuuck you!" she shouts through her grin, pressing right up against Yan Sun and pinning her against the cage. "You are just a fucking cheater!" she continues, her fingers interlocking with the mesh on each side of Yan Sun so she can't squirm away.
Yan Sun giggles loudly in answer to Jessica's exclamation, but it's cut short by a sudden intake of breath as she's pinned against the lift wall, an excited glint in her eyes. "Am not..." she protests. Slipping away seems to be the last thing on her mind, but she squirms regardless, pressing back against Jessica in deliberate provocation. "Nothing wrong with using every tool in the box. And I have a lot..." she says, a cocky grin on her
face as she tilts her head, left eye and the intricate patterns on the side of her head both alight with a bright blue glow, her left hand sneaking under the hem of Jessica's tanktop, a tingling thrum to her fingertips, like a static buildup that never discharges.
Jessica leans a bit heavier against Yan Sun, using her size advantage to posture over her. "Mmm." she hums, aggressively unconvinced. "Is something a cheater says." The familiar tingle against her skin causes her eyes to flutter just a little, a small crack in the facade. Her right hand releases the mesh and rises to Yan Sun's throat, fingers slowly snaking around it, thumb and index finger pressing against her jaw and forcing her to
Yan Sun rolls her eyes slightly at Jessica's comeback, her left hand continuing its journey upward, fingertips trailing the edges of her scars by touch on the way up to her breast, only to come to a sudden stop as her head is tilted upward. She swallows against the hand on her throat, the cockiness wiped away by unconcealed thrill, eyes fixed on Jessica's. Her breathing is tense and, this close, audible even over the sound of the lift's
Jessica seems pleased with the reaction, predatory grin crossing her features. Her eyes move across Yan Sun's features. Her eyes. Her lips. "I have been wanting to fuck you all night, kitty cat." she says matter-of-factly. She tilts her head down, her nose pressing alongside Yan Sun's, foreheads meeting as her lips seek out the edge of her partner's in a light, teasing touch.
Yan Sun watches Jessica in turn, transfixed. The corner of her mouth tugs ever-so-slightly upward at her comment, a fresh flush coming to her face. "Yeah...?" she whispers against Jessica's lips, making no attempt to hide how much she likes to hear that. Her left hand is still frozen in place, and her right has come to rest in the back pocket of her partner's jeans. The ground is getting closer outside the cage of the cargo lift, although
Jessica hums an "Mmm." in affirmation, still lingering close and looking to be in no hurry to pull away and paying absolutely no mind to the world rising around them. Her thumb idly traces a line across the underside of Yan Sun's jaw. "I am going to fuck you up tonight." she says, her grin heard as much as she's felt and a soft, breathy snicker chases it and causes it to land somewhere between a threat and an apology.
Yan Sun 's breathing stills for just a moment, an excited grin of her own crossing her lips, laced with just a hint of nerves. "Promise...?" she exhales, the alcohol making her bolder.
The cargo lift slows as it nears the ground, coming to a stop with a rattle and the sound of grinding metal, the gate opening next to them.
Yan Sun freezes like a deer as the beam of a flashlight shines directly at the two of them from outside the lift, bathing them in blinding white light.
Jessica gives another hum. She uses her grip on Yan Sun's throat to tilt her head up just a little more and she presses a lingering kiss against her jaw, then her chin. Just as their lips meet, she finds herself blasted with a sudden beam of light, causing her to release her grip on Yan Sun, bringing the hand up in an attempt at shielding her eyes from the light. "Gah-..."
As their eyes adjust to the light, it becomes possible to make out a trio of figures waiting outside the cargo lift, the one in the middle holding the flashlight that's still pointed right in their faces. "Sorry to interrupt," one of them says in a vaguely derisive chuckle. "HK PubSec. Step out of the lift."
Yan Sun straightens up as Jessica lets go of her, eyes widening as one of the figures outside speaks. "Shit," she mutters under her breath.
Jessica looks about to snap back before the one addressing them identifies themself, causing her to pass a glance Yan Sun's way and roll her eyes. She lets out a heavy sigh as she steps out. "What is the problem? Mm?" she asks, sounding more annoyed than worried.
The flashlight lowers slightly, revealing a solidly built human man in his 30s in a PubSec uniform and cap, the top half of his face obscured by a blue AR-visor. One hand grips his flashlight, and the thumb of the other is hooked into his belt. On each side of him is a white-and-blue PubSec mech, both armed with what looks like some kind of stungun. "The 'problem', ma'am..." the officer starts, briefly pausing and looking Jessica over as if
Jessica cocks an eyebrow, gaze shifting between the mechs. A subtle frown slips into her features as she notices the stunguns and she folds her arms across her chest. "Is just an empty building." she says, the stunguns causing her to remain at least somewhat civil. She scoffs, looking from Yan Sun to the officer and tilting her head to the side. "We are just-... looking for somewhere quiet to spend time together, yes? Is not a big deal.
The officer seems unimpressed. "Uh-huh," he says. "Well, you picked the wrong place." A drone much like the one Jessica javelined with a pipe flies up to the officer, emitting a series of beeps, seemingly communicating something to his visor display judging by the slight shift in his stance. "Trespassing and destruction of PubSec property, huh? I'm taking you two down to the station."
Yan Sun studies the officer and the mechs, and then the drone that joins them, eyebrows furrowed as she thinks best she can with the haze of booze clouding her mind.
Jessica furrows her brow, sizing the officer up. Her own stance shifts in turn, lead foot back, as if anticipating that he may try something. "What the fuck you are talking about?! We did not destroy anything!" she lies, shooting another glance Yan Sun's way. Given her limited exposure to real law enforcement, she hasn't quite figured out that you can't just argue your way out of something.
Yan Sun catches Jessica's gaze and shakes her head slightly, one hand touching her arm in an attempt to indicate that she needs to settle down. "I'm- We're sorry, officer. We're not gonna cause any trouble, promise," she assures awkwardly, shooting Jessica sharp look, doing her best to communicate 'LET ME HANDLE THIS' with her eyes.
The officer ignores Jessica's shouting with an "Uh-huh, I'm sure you didn't," taking out a pair of handcuffs. He casts a brief glance Yan Sun's way before going to grab Jessica's arm and turn her around.
Jessica glares holes through the officer. It looks as if she's about to double-down when Yan Sun speaks up, momentarily defusing her. But as the officer produces a pair of handcuffs, she seems to be right back on edge. Her whole body tenses up and she inches back, shooting a look Yan Sun's way. The look she gets in return causes her to furrow her brow, confusion turning to misplaced anger towards Yan Sun. How dare Yan Sun have the
audacity to ask her to back down when this asshole is the problem. And then the officer makes his move. Adrasteia has taught her that this is the sort of split-second decision that could mean life or death. You can't just let some random fuck on the street restrain you. Every fiber of her being is telling her to just surge forward and plant the crown of her head into the meat in the center of his face. Maybe it works, maybe it
doesn't. The mechs are a wildcard. Can Yan Sun deal with them quick enough? Would she even think to? Does the officer have a weapon on him? Could she get to it in time? Are those stunguns the mechs are carrying? They could just be gunguns. Fuck it, only one way to find out. She takes one last glance at Yan Sun, hoping she'll realize that she's going to need to get involved and... nothing. The pleading look on her partner's
face seems to extinguish whatever fire was starting in her. If things go sideways, who gets hurt this time? "Don't fucking touch me." she grunts, her tone deflated as the officer grabs her arm and turns her around. But she doesn't resist, merely staring laser beams through Yan Sun.
Yan Sun seems to pick up on some part of the thoughts going through Jessica's head, worry etched on her face. Fear. For Jessica more than herself. It eases just a little when she complies.
"You're both under arrest for trespassing and destruction of PubSec property," the officer announces as he cuffs Jessica's arms behind her back. As he moves on to do the same to Yan Sun, one of mechs starts to list their rights as outlined by Alliance law in a slightly garbled and hard to understand digitized voice.
Yan Sun shoots Jessica a concerned, guilt-ridden look, and as the officer turns his attention to his omni-tool to call the arrest in she leans closer to whisper "I'll fix this. Just give me time and don't do anything stupid.", doing her best to to sound confident rather than frightened.
Jessica doesn't respond, she merely glares, jaw bulging slightly from biting down so hard. The mech's speech just fades into the background, nothing it says of any interest to Jessica.
Yan Sun casts one last worried glance Jessica's way before the two of them are led off in the direction of a PubSec car parked on the street outside the construction site, Jessica by the officer and Yan Sun by one of the mechs.
The two of them are both helped into the backseat of the car, a sleek white-gray-blue thing with roof lights. Another officer, a woman in her 40s with her black hair pulled back in a tight ponytail, sits in the passenger seat, her omni-tool active. She seems to be interfacing with the robots. The drone and the two mechs all attach to compartments at the rear of the vehicle, folding up into more compact sizes much like a modern rifle will.
Jessica silently complies- not something that happens often- and allows herself to be loaded up into the car. Once inside, she cranes her neck, peering into the front to see as much as she can. After a moment she settles back against the seat in frustration, once more looking to Yan Sun. Her annoyance is palpable and her eyebrow rises in an unvoiced question of 'What now?'. Though probably with a lot more expletives.
Yan Sun , too, scans the interior of the car once they're in it, taking in as much as she is able. Which is certainly more than Jessica. As the male officer gets into the driver's seat and the car starts to move, she replies to the woman next to her in the backseat with a 'be patient' look, before turning her attention elsewhere, an intensely thoughtful look on her face.
In the front seat, the driver comments something to the woman in the passenger seat with an apparent laugh, but from the silence in the backseat it's obvious that there's some kind of soundproofing barrier keeping them from hearing the officers' chatter. Indeed, a closer look reveals the faintest shimmer of a mass effect field separating them from their involuntary passengers.
