Zaylus sets the cup down by the sink, shaking his head. "Definitely not." He answers, not hiding any of his amusement. "If I could-" He's interrupted by the call to action and slaps a hand onto the counter. "Hell yeah, let's do it." He exclaims and starts off toward the door.

Victoria gives a shrug. "If they are involved or not, we just show them why they shouldn't take someone we care for." Vicky's omni-tool lights up, she opens it up to check the message and sees the message from Austin. The message saying 'We rushed up some of the systems, shields and engines ready to roar. Targetting have to be calibrated on the way.' A wolfish grin appears on Vicky's
face, hidden by her helmet. "Once Jason, is here I got something to bring up. The Siren is ready to sing." A somewhat devilish tone in her voice.
Everyone on the base - aside from Crux, who is still working on extracting any additional intel from the recovered tech - have been called to the departing shuttle to form the strike team headed for Aroste. The shuttle has been stocked with equipment for the mission - ammo, grenades, medical supplies, heavy weapons - specifically a missile launcher and a grenade launcher - and a few breaching charges courtesy of Nathan's stockpile. All
Redrock personnel have been placed on alert - Steve has been sent to the Respite, while remaining available personnel not on assignment have been ordered to make their way to the base to be on standby as a precaution.
Vasquez is now calling Mian after finishing her alert to the rest of Redrock. She's also sent a message to Ehanis re-iterating her request for any additional information that will help Redrock rescue Wenera (she's continued to avoid mentioning Va'ynna), including information on the plan of Ehanis and her associate, making clear that the offer to cooperate stands.
Mian answers the call, sound only. Armored footsteps and slight wind noises give away that she is outside. "What do you want?" she asks curtly.
Vasquez shifts slightly as the call connects. "Mian T'Veki? This is Chief Vasquez with Redrock. I was hoping you could give us some information on the attack this morning, since you were there."
Mian replies a quick "Yes," at the question of her name, then stops walking and leans against something judging by the sound of her armor. "The party was over when I and Carolyn got there," she says, the disappointment about that fact clear in her voice. "So, doubt we saw anything that your guys didn't."
Vasquez nods quietly to herself, getting out of her seat and walking around her desk as she speaks over the headset. "Do you know anything about the attackers? Or why they targeted Wenera?"
Mian is a bit slow to respond. "Sala killed Natalie's girlfriend, and the wh-...Wenera was playing detective in... fuck, I forgot the name of that place," she says. "Anyway, I don't know Wenera's deal. She's hiding a lot from everyone and never drunk enough to start talking. I don't think she even told Natalie much."
Vasquez frowns and stops in the middle of the room. "You seemed invested in going after Sala. I saw the manuever you pulled, trying to board the shuttle. Why?"
Mian snorts. "I wasn't lying when told you I wanted a real fight and this Sala bitch sounded like it," she says. "But going for the shuttle? That was for Kirev, and I guess Natalie too had I known at the time how bad they got her."
Vasquez lets out a faint "Hmh.", continuing her walk around the office. "Do you know anything about her? Piros? I have my people on the hunt, if you know anything at all that could help..."
Mian starts walking again. "No, not really," she says. "I don't think Wenera knew much about her, either, other than that she's a dangerous biotic with a cloak on her hardsuit. I really fucking hope Wenera didn't hold back knowledge that would have helped me and Kirev this morning..."
Mian continues walking for a bit while Vasquez responds. "I hope you get her," she says before ending the call.
The Respite skycar sets down outside the front door of Redrock HQ. The doors pops open almost immediately.
Ilyna exits the skycar and turns around to help Li out of it as well. She has studied the transcript from Ehanis' conversation a few times on the trip over there, which has done little to reduce her concern. She hasn't talked about it, however, just calling it 'work'. She's wearing her black winter coat over her typical kind of casual dress.
Enila hopes out from the driver's seat, carrying a duffel bag in her hand and Ilyna's largest hard suit pieces underarm as she approaches the entrance. She does slow down to let Ilyna and Li catch up.
Emma raises a hand in greeting to the approaching trio from her spot atop the Redrock HQ roof. She was the first of those summoned to arrive, having already been nearby, and now stands watch on top of the building with her sniper rifle in hand.
Vasquez ' gaze shifts to the terminal as she's notified of the arriving vehicle. She initiates a call with the last contact on her list - Kolatia T'Shor.
Enila waves to the sniper with a small smile, confident in that the recognition is mutual, and follows Ilyna and Li inside. She steps aside once in and casts a few curious glances around the lobby.
The call connects after a few moments. "Oh, hey," a feminine voice says, the background noises being brisk footsteps outside. "I don't have time to chat right now, I've got a transport to catch."
Vasquez is quick to get in "This is important. I'm Chief Vasquez with Redrock Security Services. Do you know Wenera Leren?", hoping that will be enough to make the person on the other end - presumably Kolatia - stick around.
Fergus is the only one in the lobby, his hologram flickering slightly as he stands impassively behind the desk.
The voice on the call sighs. "I know who you are," she says, her tone seeming not pleased about that. "I don't know Wenera, I just met her yesterday and we didn't hit it off, exactly." She takes a few more steps before sighing. "Anyway, you'll hear from me soon. Maybe." She then hangs up.
Ilyna glances to Enila. "Just put it on the desk," she says before stepping up to Fergus. "What's the status?" she asks. "I take it they've left already?"
Enila nods and puts the duffel bag down in front of the receptionist's desk and the stack of plating on top.
Vasquez frowns as the call ends, alarm bells going off in her head. "Fergus, keep an eye on outgoing traffic, and run a search on Kolatia T'Shor," she instructs before moving back behind her desk, ready to receive Ilyna. She checks her messages again just in case Ehanis has decided to cooperate.
Fergus bows in greeting. "That's correct, ma'am. The rescue party has already sallied forth in pursuit of the abducting villains!"
Ilyna frowns at the news, but she pushes her worry back for now as she crouches down in front of Li. "Va'ynna has been kidnapped, and Jason and a team are on their way to save her," she says, figuring it better come from here than overhearing her colleagues. "They know where she is, and... couldn't wait for us to get here before leaving." She glances to the side. "So, I just need a few minutes to talk with Linda, and
Enila opens a jacket pocked and fishes out a small collapsed datapad. "I was told to give you this by a guest who checked out as I was going," she tells the VI with a lowered voice before putting it on the receptionist's desk next to Ilyna's armor plates.
Li looks to Ilyna as she listens to the explanation, her worry only growing with her words. "Vynna...? Why...?"
Enila nods to Fergus and takes a step back, anger etching into her features as she looks away from Ilyna and Li.
Ilyna mirrors her worry. "We don't know yet," she says. "I don't understand it, either, but... what matters is that they'll get her home safe."
Ilyna ponders the question. "That's why I'm going to speak with Linda," she says. Overhearing the VI, she looks up at Enila and says quickly, "Second door to the left." She then turns her attention back to Li. "If there is a way for us to help, I'll tell you right after."
Vasquez has already gotten out of her seat, and waits in front of her desk to receive the datapad. "Thank you," she says, holding out her hand.
Enila hands her the datapad and takes a step back. "I did look at it, just to make sure I'm not unwittingly smuggling in something terrible," she says. "It's just got a message on it, to the same person that gave it to me."
Ilyna pats her shoulder. "I know, I don't like feeling helpless either," she says, "but they'll get her back and we'll help in whatever way we can."
Vasquez nods in acknowledgement of Enila's words, quickly looking over the message of the datapad right away.
