Zaylus rises, watching the pilots movements a bit longer and trying to get a glimpse of the view beyond. Renala's words of caution cause him to turn toward Vicky, "Give her a chance though, right? I want to see their own mech give them some hell." He says, a little mirthful.
#Aroste – April 2, 2026
Victoria looks to Renala, a grin appears on her face hidden by the helmet and gives her a nod. "Don't worry if you can't stop it, I'll focus taking it down." She points to the launcher on her back. "Should be able to make quick work of it's shields with this thing. It's just a matter of either making it take out the building or not, if you can't hack it."
Philip gets on his feet, unbalanced for a brief moment as he adjusts to the weight of the M-100 on his back.
Ehanis is quick to connect the comms after receiving the message, but the poor weather affects the signal quality. "We're ten minutes-...-waiting-...-you," Ehanis reports in, the weather coming through strongly behind her voice. It sounds like she's running while talking.
Renala keeps tapping on her omni-tool. "Good," she says with a chuckle, the nerves of the upcoming combat starting to get to her as well. "I sure hope I can turn it against them, but... you know, it's better to have a plan we don't need."
They are now above the island's western coastline, and not far from the AO. They are not close enough to see (get a sensor readout of) the site.
Leah gives a quick cycle through her HUD options, ensuring everything is synched up with her hardsuit and operational.
Jason snickers at Zaylus' comment. "Would be nice to have one of those big bastards on our side." he agrees with Renala as he gives his Revenant one final pass and slips it onto his back, the magnetic holster pulling it into place.
Jasper calls out from the cockpit. "Arrivin' over the western coast now! 'Bout 2 minutes out!" he announces, splitting his attention with the console. "Gonna stay south and swing us back 'round on an east-to-west trajectory 'fore we drop off our uhh-... packages. Figure that'll put the least 'mount a' time between lettin' 'em out and touchin' down."
Zaylus snorts, holding onto amusement for a long as possible so nerves can't set in. "Good luck out there, packages." He calls out cheerfully.
Victoria looks over to Jason, as they approach their landing site. "I am assuming Ehanis and her team are taking the door your team ain't taking? We need to close off all their escape options." She rolls her shoulders. "We need to cut off all routes of escape, then they might be more willing to surrender."
Celyna 's body shimmers faintly with biotic energy, which coalesces in her palm, crackling between her gloved fingers as she flexes them in sequence, bouncing a little in place. Zaylus' comment garners a slight turn of her helmet, armored faceplate doing nothing to give away her expression underneath.
Philip takes deliberate breaths, he too holding onto the ceiling with one hand now, his rifle in the other.
Renala shuts off the omni-tool and buckles back in, then double checks that her weapons are secured to her armor.
The shuttle sensors don't pick up much useful information on the ground as they circle around for the approach. The building's heat signature does stand out slightly from the cold background, but it's too noisy to see anything smaller. The weather outside is just around freezing, and the hail and wind has no end in sight.
Leah steps from one foot to the other, lifting a single hand as a silent acknowledgement to the pilot's update. Zaylus' comment does briefly draw her attention and she passes a sly little wink his way. All of the pre-mission jitters have long since drained. Now all that's on her mind is getting out there and getting to work.
Jason looks to Victoria, offering a small shrug. "Your guess is as good as mine. She hasn't been too chatty. All we know is she'll be here with backup and they'll be approaching from the north." He scoops his helmet up off the bench and clanks it against the shuttle wall as a call for everyone's attention before slipping it on. "Alright, people! This is it!" he announces, giving his helmet a little jostle until it clicks into place and
locks, "We all know the plan. We all know what we've got to do. Time to do it. Simple as that. So keep comms clear and watch each others' asses out there."
Jasper works silently at the controls, the only indication he's doing anything is the slow listing that can be felt as the Kodiak slowly swings back towards the building and, ultimately, their landing zone beyond it. "We're approachin' the jump site! Can't get too low without settin' off alarms with traffic control, so this is the best I can do! Yer' only gon' have a short window so make it count!" he explains. The shuttle door
hisses, the upper panel raising as the lower panel slides out of the way. The wind is immediately felt as it rushes into the crew compartment and the sound of hail peppering the hull increases in volume. Jasper is keeping just above the minimum height required for Derrai's transport corridors in order to avoid raising any concerns.
Zaylus | "Got it." He sounds off, instinctively ducking as the harsh air rushes in. He holds tightly to the ceiling handhold- this isn't his stop.
Victoria gives Jason a nod, she then looks at the Uvena and Zaylus. She turns her focus back to the shuttle's door opening, bracing herself against the wind. "Uvena and Zaylus, we support each other out there. If we have to fight that YMIR, focus fire on it. Anything smaller in the hangar, I will draw their fire as best as I can. My shields should be able to handle most of it, so I trust both
Philip flinches and grits his teeth as the shuttle door opens, exposing them to the weather, the cold and rushing wind immediately hitting his exposed face.
Celyna shifts closer to the open door to get ready for the jump, unbothered by the weather thanks to her sealed suit. Weather's bound to make for an interesting drop, but it should help conceal them, at least.
Uvena nods to Victoria. "I'll try to keep fire off of you with stasis fields," she says. "That won't work on large targets like the YMIR, though."
The wind is pretty strong, but the biotics should be able to compensate for it. The shuttle is flying in the wind direction.
The building is a large single-story square, and there is a tree cover both north and west with just a 15m/50ft stretch of open ground. All entrances are on the exposed sides, though. There is a YMIR-sized blob on the eastern side, 10m away from the wall near the corner.
Jasper calls it out once they're over the drop site. "Yer' good to go!" he announces. The wind and the crackle of hail battering down on them would be enough to drown his voice it if it weren't for comms. "Be careful out there!"
Leah passes a small, appreciative nod Uvena's way. Once the door opens the wind sends her ponytail whipping behind her and she adjusts her grip on the handhold. She sets her feet flat against the floor, allowing her mag boots to steady her against the wind, and leans forward, eyes fixed on the target painted through her visor. There's a lot of variables that go into your typical drop. Back in the Alliance they were planned out with
painstaking detail by a team of people she would never meet. People who spent weeks binging coffee and doing a whole lot of math to figure out the things that nobody else wants to consider. Things like trajectories and wind resistance. Fall velocity and the perfect time to start pumping the airbrakes. It was a well-oiled, well-choreographed machine. Today they don't have any of that. They have bad weather, rocky intel, and a
pilot that makes his own moonshine in their hangar. But she's done more with less. "Dropping in three-... two-... one-..." she counts down, gaze turning to the asari beside her as she takes one final step onto the edge of the Kodiak, rotating on the ball of her foot. "See you at the bottom." she says with a wink as she lets gravity take over and falls backwards from the shuttle.
Jason watches the pair prep for their drop, unable to do much more at this point than hope for the best. He seals his helmet as the wind begins to rush in, the plating sliding down and clicking into place.
Zaylus | "If it breaks that way you're the one with the big gun." He gestures towards Vicky, raising his voice over the noise. "But we'll keep anybody else off your back, count on it." His attention is drawn away as the drop team descends, and he grips the handhold a little tighter.
Victoria clears out of the way of Leah and Celyna, her grip tightens on her weapon and the roof handle. She gives a nod at Uvena and Zaylus' words.
Celyna is grinning wide under her helmet, adrenaline and just enough chemicals to make things interesting coursing through her system. She doesn't have any of Leah's formal training. Not really. Sure, she's picked up things from ex-Huntresses here and there, but most of her technique is self-taught. You learn what works and what doesn't over the years - if you live, anyhow. And you don't make it past two centuries without learning quite
a lot. She doesn't let herself fall out the way Leah does, rather she launches herself outward a short distance from the shuttle before letting herself fall, wanting to stay well clear of the shuttle thrusters. The sealed helmet keeps her vision as clear as it can be as she plummets through the inclement weather towards the roof below, adjusting on the go if needed.
Philip watches the two biotics drop out of the shuttle with slightly horrified fascination. "Whoa..."
Uvena stands up in her seat after the jump team is a few seconds away, wanting to be ready to hit the ground with the rest of her team.
The shuttle is able to get a good readout as they pass over the building. The YMIR mech is indeed stomping around outside at the south-eastern corner. The shuttle's sensors also pick up something person-sized on the roof.
The drop team should be able to spot the person on the roof (fully armored human male) as they get halfway (especially Celyna), but they don't seem to be noticed by him as he stops and looks towards the north-east treeline through the scope of an M-92 Mantis. The YMIR mech doesn't appear to be looking up at all.
Leah is quick to arch backwards, her technique less about training or good form and more about keeping her gear intact in a less-than-ideal situation. Without a helmet she's relying on her visor and, with winds like these, it wouldn't take much for it to be torn from her. So she rotates back, aiming top-down as she goes careening towards the ground like a missile, and brings one hand to her head to hold her cap in place and lock her
visor down. It's not the most aerodynamic she could be, but she keeps her arm as close to her body as possible to mitigate the drag as best as she can.
Jason remains near the door, eager to hit the ground running as soon as possible. "Weather is pretty fucked so I'm not sure how our long-range comms are holding up, but we're about to touch down, Linda." he announces over comms, both for Vasquez' sake as well as Ehanis' if she's listening in.
Jasper studies the console as they pass overhead, keeping the Kodiak on course to their LZ. "Lookin' like-... YMIR is to the south-east and-..." he hesitates before cussing under his breath, "...Shit! Got activity on the roof!"
Zaylus snaps his attention to Jasper's callout, replying with a tense, "Fuck." He pulls on the collar of his armor anxiously, looking back at his team. "If they can't handle that quietly..."
Victoria watches the biotic duo leap from the shuttle, in her thoughts she wishes them luck. An old voice of jealousy whispering in her ear. 'What if you had their powers?' Vicky snaps back to reality at Zaylus' word. "We will know soon, but they got this."
Celyna quickly locks in on the rooftop sniper, subtle mass effect fields nudging gravity just right to send her straight towards him from above like a guided missile. There's no time to chime in over comms with the speeds she's moving at. Given the need for immediate offensive action to take out the sentry, she doesn't slow herself down nearly as much as she normally would have. Instead she aims for that threshold - learned the hard way
over years of jumps - that's just slow enough to keep her legs from breaking on impact, while imparting as much force as possible onto her target, hoping to crush the unsuspecting human and break her fall in one fell swoop. Her legs glow and crackle with biotic energy, the air distorting around them as she weaves a field that she then discharges just before contact both to amplify the force of the impact on her target and further
cushion her own landing. Regardless of success she rolls afterwards to absorb more of the fall, landing back on her feet, crouched with one hand to the roof to steady herself, facing away from her human landing pad.
Philip tenses as he hears Jasper, eyes reflexively going towards the open door as if he might see something.
Ehanis does reply over comms. "Copy," she says, a low hum from the weather against her helmet accompanying her voice. "We haven't seen your shuttle yet, so don't-...-you're landing."
Renala remains seated, glancing at the open door. "It guess it's a good thing it's fucking loud outside," she says.
The armored human looks up in the last second, but is unable to bring the weapon to bear before the asari slams into him and he falls backward and the strike leaves a prominent dent in the armor over the chest. He is not moving. The Mantis rifle slides clatters onto the roof and slides.
The YMIR mech starts down along the southern wall, not appearing to react to the asari's landing. The sniper was a little bit away from the north-eastern corner, so Celyna does not have a line of sight to it.
The roof has a closed large hatch above where the hangar is on the map and there is a smaller roof access hatch near the south-western corner that is not showing an interface right now.
Leah hears the callout over comms right as the humanoid shape is picked up through her visor. It's a split second decision, but a sentry on the roof means she can't be as conservative with her descent as she'd like. The slower she falls, the more time there is for the sentry to take notice. Unfortunately she's moving far too fast to bother reporting to Celyna, so she simply continues sailing towards the rooftop like she was fired out
of a gun and hopes her drop-partner is on the same page as her. There's an occasional burst of energy dispelled for minor corrections, but she holds off on slowing herself for as long as she can. When the time comes a biotic field fully envelopes her, splitting the air around her as she brings her knees in and rights herself, pumping the air brakes and ruining any plans gravity had for her. She hits the roof a few moments after
Celyna, landing yards away from the sniper. Much like the asari she tucks into a roll to convert as much of that downward momentum into forward momentum. As she comes out of the roll she's already got a blade in her hand, ready to launch it, but quickly realizes it's unnecessary. "Not bad." she offers, passing a glance Celyna's way. She rises to her feet and gives the roof a cursory glance as she makes her way towards the asari's
victim. "He's down. I think we're still in the clear." she quickly reports over comms as she crouches down beside the human to make sure he's fully out of the fight.
Jason draws in a breath as Jasper reports the activity on the roof, releasing it in a slow exhale when the update immediately follows. "We're setting down west of the target." he responds to Ehanis, doing his best to interpret what's been lost in her message.
Zaylus slumps a little in relief, nodding appreciatively to no one. "Yeah, a sunny day would've made this a lot harder." He replies to Renala's thought.
Victoria readies herself keeping her phaeston in hand, and ready to move out of the shuttle the instant it touches down.
Celyna casts a quick glance over her shoulder to confirm that the sniper is down, and then straightens up with an "Oof...", her knees not exactly thrilled with the hard landing. Her gaze sweeps the roof, on high alert as she joins Leah by the crumpled human. "One asshole down... snatch his comms?" she suggests with a brief look down at the body before returning to looking around the roof.
Philip relaxes just a little alongside the others, but then braces himself to jump out of the shuttle as they get closer to go-time.
Uvena sighs relieved at the all clear given by the jump team and she looks out as she waits for the shuttle to set down.
In addition to the sniper rifle, the human has a M-7 Avenger assault rifle that's still hanging on the side of the armor. There are three also packs of clips on the armor. He is not moving. There is no external comms device on his person, they might be inside the helmet.
Leah twirls the blade into a reverse grip and brings it down on the man's throat, dragging it across in a single, fluid motion. They simply can't risk him getting back up the moment their backs are turned and they don't have time to assess just how down-and-out he actually is. She returns the blade to her chestplate and gives him a once over, brows furrowing. "Integrated." she says with a sigh.
Jasper reduces the shuttles altitude as they approach the edge of the forest and the Kodiak lists ever-so-slightly when he swings it around, giving them a clear view of the forest through the open door on descent. "Alright! I'll keep the engine runnin'!" he jokes as the shuttle rumbles against the ground.
Jason releases the handhold once they're down and slips the Revenant off his back, gripping it in both hands as he leads the way off the shuttle. "Let's get moving!" he calls out to the others. Given everything that's transpired over the last year, his feelings towards the Alliance are... complicated to say the least. But it's times like these when that Alliance training comes through. Ignore the noise. The worries. Don't think about
what Va'ynna is going through. Is she safe? Have they hurt her? Not because it doesn't matter. It's the only thing that matters. But right now there's not shit he can do about it. The Alliance taught him to focus on the problem that's right in front of him. The one he can do something about. And right now, that's crossing this patch of forest separating them from their target, so he gets marching.
Zaylus slips out of the shuttle soon after, unholstering his Carnifex. He breaks to one side and looks back as the others file out, trying to keep his small team in sight before charging forward.
Victoria storms out of the shuttle as soon as the doors open, her phaeston raised and aiming at the tree line. Keeping her sight and focus there, waiting for the others to move out and Jason to give the orders. The calmer voice in her head telling her to listen to Jason.
Philip files out after Jason, raising his Avenger and following him not entirely unlike a duckling with a gun.
Celyna lets out a grunt of acknowledgement and changes tracks, consulting the map at the corner of her HUD for the location of the roof hatch, starting to move that way to get in position to breach once the others arrive.
Uvena hops out and jogs to keep pace with the rest of her team, keeping her Locust holstered for now. She's eager to finally do something about her daughter's safety, and tries to focus on that rather than what might have happened to her.
Renala follows Jason's four as she relies on her helmet's hud to present the result of the passive scan for wireless devices she can connect to.
The wind loudly whipping the treetops and the hail is the only sound the ground teams hear as they hurry through the forest.
The hatch is on the south-western corner, and Celyna can hear the stomping of the heavy mech which is currently patrolling towards the ground below the corner.
Leah removes the man's Avenger, giving it a quick once over and folding it up before stowing it on her armor. They've got a little time before things kick off, so she moves to collect the Mantis as well before following behind Celyna.
Jason waits for everyone to file out of the Kodiak before proceeding into the treeline. "On the move. We're coming in from the west." he announces over comms for Ehanis' sake. He's maintaining a pace, but doing his best to keep a look out for Ehanis and remain alert. Even though he's not expecting any resistance until they reach the building, you never know. It's not outside the realm of possibility for them to have prepared for some
sort of counter-attack. The fact that they had a sentry on the roof means they must've at least considered the idea that this might happen.
Zaylus mirrors the alert scanning of their environment, though the weather makes this much more taxing. He mostly just tries to mind his steps that crunch the fallen hail as they head into the trees.
Victoria keeps pace with Jason, her weapon at the ready. She lets out a sigh, annoyed at the weather but keeping her eyes trained on the tree line.
Celyna gets low as she hears the mech, crouching by the hatch to remain out of view. "Roof's cleared, we're at the hatch," she announces over comms. "Mech's coming up on the west side."
Philip moves silently at Jason's eight, on edge as they move start going through the trees. Without any protective headwear he's forced to squint against the harsh winds and hail stinging his face.
Ehanis replies over comms. "Copy, we'll meet up near the north-east corner then," she says. "Do I have permission to patch in the krogan?"
Renala ups her pace a little at Celyna's report. "I'm going for the mech," she replies over comms. She has disabled the helmet speaker.
The roof team sees no action at the moment. The mech does not see them as it rounds the corner and starts stomping along the western wall towards the north-east. The top parts of the mech are visible from near the edge of the roof.
The ground teams gets through the forest unimpeded and will start to see the mech on helmet sensors between the trees as they get closer to the treeline.
Leah mirrors Celyna's posture, lowering into a crouch as she nears the hatch and giving it a once over to see if it's unlocked.
Jason continues to lead the way through the forest, picking up his pace when Renala does. "You know I love making new friends. Get 'em a party invite." he reports back to Ehanis, bringing his Revenant to a low-ready as they near the treeline marking the other side of the forest. "Assuming this works, how long are we gonna have before they realize someone fucked with their little guard dog?" he asks, casting a glance over to Renala.
Zaylus crosses to the side to position with Victoria and Uvena, anticipating their breaking off. This is the part he was excited about, and he watches Renala for her to do her work.
Victoria places her phaeston on her back locking it in place, she grabs the missile launcher and keeps it at the ready. Opting to get the heavy weapon ready in case the mech is alerted.
Celyna glances at the hint of mech-shoulder visible from her position when she hears the conversation on comms. She remains crouched where she is, gathering biotic energy in her right hand as Leah checks the hatch.
Philip matches the pace of his teammates, briefly glancing Renala's way in anticipation of her response to Jason.
Urdnot replies on the comms instead of Ehanis. "I'm Syld," he says, not wasting comms time on a length introduction. "We're at the treeline, holding back."
Renala takes cover behind a tree a little behind the treeline, and opens the pouch on her armor to pick out the little drone she was working on during the trip over here, hunching over it as it's not waterproof in the slightest without its barrier. "Depends on what I do with it," she replies. She joins the yellow cable on it and it hovers in front of her. "I'll start by getting it to ignore anyone not on its friends list,
and falsify its reporting to the central server. They won't know anything's up." She briefly brings up a reduced omni-tool interface to issue the command, and the drone flies a wide arc to sneak up behind the mech as it executes the hack immediately upon being in range. She may or may not have added a "I hope" off comms.
The mech stops and looks a bit erratic as the little drone catches up to it, and executes the hack. After a few seconds, it starts back on its patrol and reaches the corner. Renala's drone keeps following behind it.
Renala smiles behind her helmet's visor. "It's looking good so far," she replies over comms. "Let it pass before you get into position though... just in case."
Leah remains at the hatch, waiting for the others to handle their end of things. "Unlocked. We should be good for entry." she reports.
Jason furrows his brow as the unfamiliar voice chimes in over comms. "Welcome to the party, Syld." he greets, "We're west of the building, just about to handle that big sonovabitch stomping around. Stand by." He takes a position near Renala, posting up at a tree that gives him a clear sightline on the mech and shoulders his Revenant. "Right, right." he says as Renala begins to respond, focus squarely on the YMIR. "Uh huh. Gotta falsify
its reporting." he agrees with a few idle nods, "I mean-... yeah. I hate central servers..." he mutters, obviously more interested in whether or not the end result is in their favor than how any of it actually works. He holds his breath as the little-drone-that-could hovers its way towards the YMIR and begins to work its magic. As the mech begins to freak out, he passes a questioning look Renala's way, and it's only when she
announces her results that a lopsided grin crosses his features. "Good work." he congratulates, heeding Renala's advice and giving the mech a wide berth as he waits for it to clear the corner of the building.
Zaylus spys the scene through the trees, getting enough glimpses to see the success as Renala reports it. He nudges Vicky with his elbow, "Don't explode our new friend." He quips happily.
Victoria holds her position next to a tree, with the launcher at the ready. She gives a grumble at Zaylus' elbow nudge. "Wolfe, if the mech is still a hostile are we blowing it up or just wrecking it?" She wanted a game plan in case the hack did fail, knowing that the hangar team would probably be in the most danger if it is still hostile.
Celyna allows the biotic energy to dissipate after Leah confirms that the hatch is unlocked, waiting silently for the go-ahead to move in.
Philip picks a nearby tree of his own to take cover behind, bringing up his left hand to shield his face as he makes a failed attempt to spot Celyna and Leah on the roof.
The YMIR mech rounds the corner and continues east along the north wall. There are no entrances on the west and north wall.
Uvena looks Renala's way as she waits for her report, then smiles at the good news, and begins going south along the treeline as they might as well stay in cover until they have to cross the open ground. "Let's get ready to hit the hangar," she suggests over comms.
Renala returns Uvena's smile, but she looks a bit anxious still as she keeps an eye on the readout on her hud. "It's still ours," she says. "The central is getting its main feed, so stay behind it as much as possible. I could cut it, but that's harder to hide."
Ehanis (Comms) "It's coming our way now, but we're staying out of sight.... Both doors on this side are locked."
Leah brings up the pilfered Mantis, using the scope to give the treeline a quick scan as she waits for the others to get into position. She finds herself thankful for the cap as hail pelts against the brim.
Jason starts towards the building once the mech is clear. "If the mech is still hostile, you're doing whatever it takes to keep it from blowing your ass off." he responds to Victoria as he moves with Uvena. Once the southwest corner of the building is in sight, he gestures for everyone to get moving and he begins to cross the open space, suddenly feeling a whole lot more exposed without the treeline to protect him. "Start making entry,
roof team, but stick to the maintenance corridor until we're ready to go loud." he reports before continuing, "Ehanis, we're moving in. I don't think it's a good idea for us to waste time making our way all the way over to you. I assume if you came all this way you've got some way to get through those doors?"
Zaylus treks along the treeline, crossing into the open when gestured to. He takes a few glances at the mech, as if wondering if its too good to be true. He keeps any further quips to himself now, though, as the exposure makes him focus on getting to their entry point.
Victoria just shakes her head at Jason's response to her, she stands up moving with the others southward. She keeps the launcher at the ready and starts moving into the open, keeping pace with Zaylus. She prepares herself to start giving the others covering fire with the launcher if needed.
Celyna gives Leah a look to make sure she's ready after she hears Jason, and then pulls her Carnifex with a "Got it," and taps the hatch to open it, lightening her mass a little as she drops down in order to land light on her feet.
Philip is relieved when the mech disappears out of view, and hurries after Jason, eager to cross the open space and get up against the building.
The Mantis has a thermal scope, so Leah is able to see Jason and Victoria's teams among the trees and in front of them when they cross, but no threats.
Renala hurries after Jason towards the wall, her omni-tool lighting up around her arm as she prepares her door opener. "I didn't see you two on the feed," she reports over comms as she stacks up on the wall behind the others. "I also haven't picked up any exterior cameras so far."
Jason might be able to peek around the corner and see that both the garage door and the hallway door is closed and locked.
(Maintenance Corridor) The corridor is clear and there's no sounds of anyone else walking on its metal floors. It's brightly lit. There are exposed wires and plumbing along both the side walls. The corridor runs the whole length of the building before rounding a corner, and there is a locked door on the right-hand side just before the corner.
Leah packs up the Mantis when Jason gives the order, folding it up and stowing it on her back. Drawing her Predator, she joins Celyna, indicating she's ready with a pat on the shoulder. She gives Celyna a moment to clear out of the way below before following suit and hopping down through the hatch. "We're in." she reports.
Jason hits Ehanis and Leah with a quick, "Copy." and keeps his Revenant shouldered as he leads the way towards the first door on the southern side. As soon as he makes it, he stacks up beside the door and gestures for the other team to continue past him. "Looks like things are locked up tight on the south. Lets get this place opened up a bit, Renala."
Zaylus proceeds past Jason, headed for the hangar. He waits for the other two to position themselves, assuming someone with greater firepower than him wants to take the lead.
Victoria follows Jason up to his door and then proceeds to move towards the hangar's door, hugging the wall on her way up. She takes her phaeston off her back and keeps it in her left hand in a lowered position, while keeping the launcher in her right hand in case the mech comes around the corner as a hostile. She moves in front of Zaylus, taking the lead position in the stack.
Philip takes up position on the other side of the door, briefly struggling to figure out what to do about his rifle. He briefly tries shifting it into a left-handed position before deciding that he's better off dropping that idea - he'll just have to swing around if he needs to fire from here.
Celyna creeps slowly through the corridor, gun at the ready. She takes cover against the corner, leaning slightly to peek around it.
The mech keeps stomping down along the eastern wall, slowing down a little as it has more open space to scan.
The corridor continues the whole length of the northern wall but with a dead end instead of another corner. She and Leah seems to be alone in the corridor. There is an unlocked but closed door partway down the corridor. There is some muffled speech from the room Celyna just passed; two voices, but words cannot be made out.
Renala stacks up on the other side of the door Jason is at, and checks the readout on her HUD. "I can get one door at a time, and... it won't be subtle."
The outside is still clear, and the doors remain locked. Jason and Renala might hear a muffled woman's voice just inside, but not well enough to identify the person speaking or make out the words.
