Vasquez opens her mouth to say something, but quickly reconsiders, letting go of the topic with a sigh, shoulders slumping slightly. "I'm not here to discuss this. I'm here to get some answers. From what you told me, it sounds like our purposes align. Does that mean I won't have to twist your arm to get you to come into HQ to answer some questions?"

Ehanis 's frustration seems to fade as they leave the topic of family, and she tilts her head at the question as she's already said that she's been ordered to cooperate with Redrock. "Sure, just send a message and I'll show up," she says, "or are we going right now?"
Vasquez inclines her head slightly as Ehanis guesses her intention. "Rather not let you out of my sight until we're done, Tioran," she confirms. "I'm not convinced you wouldn't just slink off and disappear again if I left you to your own devices."
Ehanis sighs, looking a bit disappointed, but she isn't surprised by the lack of trust. "I get it," she says, reaching down to pick up her helmet. "I really do want to fix the mess I made, so it's probably best we talk before I run into Mian." Her tone is not light-hearted as she says that.
Vasquez nods sharply. "Good," she says before turning and starting to lead the way out of the hangar, to where her and Jason's sturdy gray truck waits, its front lights illuminating the thin layer of snow that coats the spaceport grounds, making it sparkle. She cracks open the driver's side door and climbs into her seat without another word. She was never one for small talk.
Ehanis puts on the helmet and picks up her bag, hurrying to catch up with Vasquez as she walks to the truck. She tosses her bag on the truck bed before walking around to take the front passenger seat. She might not stay hidden for long once more people at Redrock HQ notices her, but she might as well try stay hidden until then, so the helmet stays on for now. "By the way, Wenera wants to know how Natalie is doing."
Vasquez glances over at Ehanis' now-helmet form briefly before closing the door and returning her eyes to the windshield as they roll out. "She's still in the hospital, but she's stable," she confirms, tone less harsh than before. "Last I heard the docs were optimistic."
Ehanis nods. "Good," she says. "Wenera will be glad to hear it." The helmet stays on even when out of the spaceport, and intend to until they're inside Redrock HQ. She looks ahead as well, seeming a bit deep in thought as she looks at the town she felt she had to run away from about a month and a half ago.
