January 7th, 2186. Another visit to the pool, another delicious meal made by a professional chef - this time Jessica and Yan Sun ate alone on the balcony., taking advantage of the sunny weather. There's been a visit to the penthouse's movie theater as well, which turned out to be hiding between Yan Sun's room and the dining room, to watch 'something better than Blood Rage' - the vid turned out to be the 2173 gothic horror classic Starless,
#SunTower – May 24, 2026
which featured a remote homestead on an isolated world, under an ever-darkening sky, as star after star vanished above. Yan Sun has spent much of the day continuing to tinker with the AI housing, trying to get the cooling system up and running - and enthusiastically trying to explain what she's doing to Jessica. It's not hard to tell that it's her way of taking her mind off of things. Off of her mother. Off of her father. Sau has been gone for
most of the day, but as the afternoon started to come to an end he came back, and Yan Sun has been gone since to speak with him, leaving Jessica alone.
Jessica has been in high spirits today despite the sword hanging over her head. Ignoring problems is an artform that she's had plenty of experience perfecting after all. It's only now- when she's left alone with her thoughts- that it starts to sink in: today is probably the last time she's going to see Yan Sun. She runs through the checklist she's made up in her mind to try and push out those thoughts. The
reminders that it's probably for the best for both of them. That this was never something that was going to be long term anyway. They both knew that, right? And then there's the credits. More money than she could ever have otherwise. It's the sort of thing she and Martin used to daydream about. What they would spend it on. How much better their lives would be. Martin would want her to take the money. Right? No... she knows
better than that. It doesn't matter anyway. He's not here. If he wanted his opinion to matter then he shouldn't have died. The thought causes her to frown and she rises from the couch in her claimed corner of Yan Sun's room, the movie playing on the screen no longer holding her interest.
It's been a fair while since Yan Sun disappeared to speak with her father. She'll probably be back soon enough. Despite her absence, the large room is filled with the impression of her. It has personality that most of the penthouse lacks - from the posters on the walls and the collectibles, to the half-assembled AI housing components scattered over every surface, the empty warp cola cans stacked on the desk, and the clothes haphazardly thrown
on the bed. The windows are dimmed for the movie, an entirely black wall to the right, just around the screen, and then a gradient that grows gradually more transparent, showing glimpses of the city skyline towards the other end, glass towers sparkling in the low sun.
Jessica folds her arms across her chest as she moves over towards where the window is less dim, only briefly looking out it before meandering around the room aimlessly in hopes that stretching her legs a bit might help clear her mind.
The door to the room slides open with the quietest of 'shhhk's, and a distracted-looking Yan Sun steps in, mind obviously elsewhere, although she stops on realizing Jessica isn't where she left her, but rather pacing around the room, a small grin crossing her lips. "Feeling cooped up?"
Jessica is stood beside the bed, arms folded across her chest as she studies the posters hanging on the wall. The voice behind her causes her to glance back, brows furrowed. "What is this...?" she asks, ignoring Yan Sun's question as she gestures to the Metallic VR Arcade poster.
Yan Sun walks up behind Jessica, arms wrapping around her and putting her chin on her shoulder, slumping a little against her. "Metallic VR? That's the place I told you about. I think I did, anyway? The arcade. It's awesome. We should definitely go, I just-..." her voice falters, the faint laugh that follows, little more than an exhale, a poor attempt to keep the mood light. "You know, just haven't really..." She trails off and shrugs
Jessica gives a few nods as Yan Sun confirms it's the place she mentioned before, answering Jessica's unspoken question. "With the rig." she adds, as if to say 'See? I listen.' She tilts her head back a little, pressing against Yan Sun, but her own smile slips a bit, realizing that's a trip that's probably not in their cards. "Mm." she hums half-heartedly in agreement with future plans that will never materialize and tilts her
Yan Sun lets out an exaggerated, trilling sigh, slumping a little more heavily against Jessica. "Well, we talked a bit about yesterday. I feel like I got through to him? He wasn't pissed like I thought he'd be..." she says, sounding like she has more to add.
Jessica's frown takes hold and she's unable to resist the urge to roll her eyes, but she doesn't say anything, merely focusing on the collection of posters as she listens.
Yan Sun lets go of Jessica and lets herself fall on her back onto the bed, looking up at the ceiling. "He told me about this event that's coming up. I guess some asari matriarch is coming to Earth with her followers, and the city is planning a gala in her honor. He wants me to go, says it'd be 'the perfect way to re-introduce me to society after my sabbatical'," she says in an imitation of her father's voice, face making a grimace before she
Jessica's frown only seems to deepen as she listens. It shouldn't matter. She'll be long gone by then. "Mm. Sounds lame." she offers anyway, the judgement coming easily to her as she drops on to the edge of the bed beside Yan Sun. "This is shit you are wanting to do...?" she asks, her tone- and the slight rise of her brow- implying that she doesn't believe that.
Yan Sun lets out a quiet snort, hands folded over her belly as she looks up at Jessica. "No. Not really. I always hated those stupid parties. But... it kind of comes with the territory, I guess..." she muses, letting her gaze wander off across the ceiling.
Jessica shrugs her shoulders, scoffing at the idea that it's some sort of responsibility. "So say to him to fuck off." she says with a playful poke to Yan Sun's side, as if it's that simple.
Yan Sun lets out a snort of laughter, amused by the idea in the idea in the sort of fleeting way that makes it obvious that she doesn't really consider it an option. "Yeah, maybe..." she dismisses, sitting up and crossing her legs. "It's not yet anyhow, I'll figure it out," she decides, before adding a surprisingly excited "Buuuut...", a grin crossing her lips as she looks at Jessica. "...my father did give me access to a wardrobe account to
prep for the gala. As you probably noticed, I really, really don't need anymore clothes..." A face that's both exasperated and more than a little self-conscious about her excessive wardrobe. "But... you wanted to get some new stuff, right? Soooo... what do you think about spending some of my father's credits?" she suggests with a mischievous lift of her eyebrow.
Jessica leans back, propping herself up with her palms against the soft bed, and gives a snort of her own as Yan Sun considers her own wardrobe, her gaze instinctively flicking over towards the walk-in closet. But the offer that follows helps to wipe away the remnants of the frown etched into her features, replacing it with a sly grin of her own. "Mm. I think-..." she trails off briefly, making a show of considering it for just a brief
Yan Sun snickers. "Perfect, let's do it," she says, leaning in for a quick kiss before looking up at the ceiling. "Guang Huan? Load up my wardrobe program, but swap the avatar for one of Jessica, and sync to any source within drone delivery range."
Jessica gives a wiggle of her brows in response, her left doing most of the heavy lifting. She's already climbing off the bed when Yan Sun speaks up, causing her to glance back in confusion for a brief moment before realizing why her partner isn't following her. "Of course we can just do the shopping from here." she muses, looking down at the woman still seated on the bed. "I am understanding more why you are so lazy, kitty cat."
Guang 's voice answers in the affirmative, and a highly detailed, life-size holographic representation of Jessica materializes in the middle of the room, wearing basic underwear and playing a simple idle animation.
Yan Sun frowns. "Wh-... I'm the lazy one?" she asks with a scoff, adding an affectionate "Screw you." and shifting, feet on the floor now, palms against the bed behind her. "We can go to some stores if you want, but it's a lot easier to try on a wide spread of stuff like this. One of the advantages to living in a city like Hong Kong is that you can find pretty much anything."
Jessica scowls at the implication despite the mess of pillows, blankets, cans, bottles, and wrappers that decorate her lair in the corner serving as damning evidence against her. She levels a glare on Yan Sun but is quickly distracted when her holographic twin begins to manifest, her entire focus shifting towards the specter. She waves Yan Sun off dismissively, offering a simple: "Is fine..." as she distractedly steps over to it the
The spectral likeness of Jessica is remarkable, a high-quality recreation presented with top-of-the-line high-fidelity holographics, much like the image of Yan Sun's mother. Except this is not a recording, of course. The hologram turns to look at Jessica. Somehow the VI even seems to have captured just a little bit of her attitude, the image frowning at her in a familiar way.
Yan Sun snickers quietly and scoots closer to the edge of the bed, once again crossing her legs underneath herself. "Not sure if any stores in Adrasteia had displays like that...? It's a good way to see exactly how stuff will look on you before you buy it."
Jessica begins to circle the hologram, returning the frown with a scowl of her own. "Maybe..." she offers. Adrasteia was a big place, after all. Not Hong Kong big, but Aite big. But even if there were places with displays like this, those certainly weren't the sort of places she shopped at. She leans over a bit, further scrutinizing the hologram before signalling her arrival at some sort of conclusion with a loud scoff, peering
back at Yan Sun over the shoulder of her mirror image and declaring: "I am definitely more hotter than this."
Yan Sun giggles, tilting her head as she watches the two Jessicas with a grin. "I don't think any hologram could really do you justice..." she says quietly, looking a little embarrassed afterwards at the realization of just how sincere the words came out. Her gaze flicks away and she clears her throat, implants lighting up. A moment later, a cylindrical haptic interface surrounds the hologram, offering options for rotating, zooming, changing
pose, and, of course, a search function putting a near-limitless amount of clothing items at Jessica's fingertips for her perusal. Almost anything imaginable is just an extranet search away. "You can do a search for stuff yourself right there, or if you want to give keywords, Huan can compile recommendations that fit the criteria and, well, you."
Jessica gives a pleased hum, but continues to study the hologram while Yan Sun explains how it works. Despite the bravado on display, the truth is it's weird seeing herself like this. As if she's an onlooker. A third party. The way other people must see her. The way Yan Sun must see her. Somehow the burns seem more prominent like this. But rather than fixate on that, she does what any rational person would do in a situation like
this. She reaches around her digital doppelganger from behind and gives its boobs a squeeze while wiggling her brows at Yan Sun, an annoyingly proud grin plastered on her face as her hands flitter through the holographic representation.
Jessica gives a roll of her eyes at the fun police, though her grin remains. She takes a moment to get acquainted with the interface, rotating the depiction around and browsing the poses, seeming far more interested in messing with the hologram than doing any shopping for now.
There's no shortage of poses and animations available, ranging from the mundane to the ridiculous. Idling. Acrobatics. Dancing. The list is seemingly endless. Backflips? Check. Yawn? Check. Macarena? Check. For some reason.
Yan Sun is in no rush, leaning back a little against the palms of her hands and watching Jessica mess around with an amused look. It's probably a good thing she didn't give Jessica access to her own holo-image.
Jessica settles on one that she seems to take a liking to. Unsurprisingly, it's a pose in which her hologram stands defiantly with one hand on her hip and the other extending the middle finger, one brow raised threateningly. Jessica begins wordlessly fine-tuning the angle, tongue poking at the corner of her mouth in concentration while she rotates it back and forth ever-so-slightly to make sure it's looking right at Yan Sun. It's not
until she's happy with it that she takes a step back, brow furrowing as she takes in a deep breath. "How about... stuffs for dancing?" she asks, head dipping back slightly, "Club dancing! Not fancy dancing!" she corrects.
Yan Sun just watches with a barely suppressed grin as Jessica meticulously lines up the hologram her way.
After an affirmative chime, a massive, scrolling list of clothing items with little image previews appears. The broad request has generated equally broad results, a wide selection of items scattered throughout the thousands of entries long list. Dresses, tops, skirts, pants, jackets, jewelry, shoes, boots, belts, the styles too all over the place, although it seems to trend towards colorful, sometimes neon, geometric pieces that often feature
windows that show skin, a popular high-end style for clubbing at the moment. While this is the overall trend, plenty of other styles can be found, and more specific search terms could no doubt narrow things down with ease. A lot of the pricier items feature light-up elements, and in several cases even entirely holographic elements, something marked with a floating footnote, given that the difference is hard to discern with this interface.
Jessica frowns when the search doesn't yield useful results, one hand moving to her hip, inadvertently miming the hologram's pose nearly perfectly sans middle finger. She purses her lips to one side in thought and draws in a deep breath before beginning to tap at the interface manually. As she types, the list begins to truncate into something more manageable and she begins the process of putting together an outfit. It's not long before
she casts a conspiratorial glance Yan Sun's way and inches back around towards the front of the hologram in an attempt at blocking line of sight as she works.
Yan Sun snickers at Jessica's attempt to conceal her browsing. "I won't look," she offers, falling back against the bed and staring up at the ceiling instead as she waits for Jessica's ideal club outfit to be put together, with near infinite choice and credits at her disposal.
Jessica pokes and prods and swipes at the interface, occasionally glancing back to make sure Yan Sun isn't trying to steal a look. A scoff here, a snicker there, but after several minutes, she steps aside to unveil her creation. "Mm?" she hums to get Yan Sun's attention, grin crossing her features. The outfit itself is pretty restrained for having been given nearly unlimited resources. Surprisingly, she didn't just stack up a whole
bunch of expensive jewelry to pawn off. The hologram is wearing a simple white tanktop with a Y backstrap and large arm holes. It's loose-fitting enough and the arm holes are large enough that it would be downright inappropriate if the hologram wasn't wearing a black sports bra underneath it. The pants are a little more elaborate but still far from glamorous. Baggy black sweatpants with smooth, shiny square patches over the
knees and matching rectangular ones running up the shins. Seems she's opted to replace her worn down sneakers as well with a fresh pair of high-top black & white sneakers with thick, black laces. She gives the hologram an appraising look before wiggling her brows at Yan Sun, seemingly happy with her selection. With a quick swipe, a sleeveless black hoodie is added that's adorned with faint geometric patterns in what appears to
be the same material as the patches on the pants. Another swipe and the geometric patterns begin to glow, not all that dissimilarly from Yan Sun's cybernetic, a flash of color slowly tracing a geometric design across the patches on the pants. One might also notice that the interface is indicating that a few other things have already been added to the cart.
Yan Sun sits back up with a grunt, a moment passing as she takes in the holographic image before her. Soon enough an approving smile crosses her lips. "It's definitely you," she says, still studying the hologram. When the geometric details start to glow her smile widens. "Oooh... I like the light pattern," she says, before, after a moment's consideration adding "Probably not a surprise," with a grin and a shrug, the lights of her
cybernetics intensifying for a brief moment. Having noticed that there's more stuff in the cart she sits back and waits expectantly.
Jessica's grin grows as Yan Sun speaks, but she gives a roll of her eyes as Yan Sun flashes her lights, muttering a quiet: "Show off." despite a fond look remaining etched into her features. "And I am thinking-..." she furrows her brow, looking at the hologram for a moment before nodding to herself and giving a few swipes to add black, matte lipstick to the hologram as a finishing touch. "Is good, yes?" she asks, seeming to have no
Yan Sun 's grin lingers. "Definitely," she agrees, studying the hologram a little longer before her gaze darts to the indicator on the interface, her curiosity apparent. "What else are you getting...?"
Jessica hums a quick, "Mm?" before realizing what she's looking at. She gives a shrug. "Stuffs." she says simply. She pokes at the back of her teeth with her tongue, giving Yan Sun that look that implies she's said all she's saying and starts back towards the bed. "Now pay for my shit, slut." she instructs, dropping heavily onto the edge beside Yan Sun and shooting a smug look her way.
Yan Sun pouts when she realizes Jessica isn't going to show her. "Whatever..." she mumbles, definitely not intensely curious. "Huan? Put the order in."
Yan Sun fails almost immediately to appear disinterested, tacking on a "You better show me later..."
Jessica gives a small lift of her shoulders in a shrug. Later isn't exactly something she wants to put much consideration into right now. "Mm. I will think about it." she teases through a grin, leaning back against her palms. "So what you are wearing tonight, mm?" she asks.
Yan Sun 's grin returns at that question, turning Jessica's way. "I think I know... It's gonna be a while before your stuff gets here, so I was thinking I could show you, and you can tell me what you think...?" she suggests.
Jessica gives an approving hum at the suggestion, settling a bit heavier against her palms as if waiting for a show. "Let me see."
Yan Sun 's grin widens and she bounces to her feet. "Okay, stay right there!" she instructs before scurrying off towards the wardrobe. She adds "It might be a moment!" before she disappears through the door, leaving Jessica alone on the bed.
Jessica watches as Yan Sun disappears into the closet. Once alone her mind returns to those thoughts that have been bubbling just beneath the surface. Doubt. Guilt. And... something else. Things she'd rather not entertain right now. A restlessness sets in pretty quickly and she draws in a breath, rising to her feet. "I am going to get something to drink." she calls out as she starts towards the bedroom door.
Jessica heads out into the hallway, feeling a little bit lighter just being up and about. She starts towards the dining room, waiting until she's a good few steps away from the bedroom before glancing upward. "Where is fuckface?" she asks, "Tell to him that I am needing to talk."
Jessica scoffs, stutter stepping to a stop and looking towards the ceiling again. "Fuckface!" she repeats in annoyance before rolling her eyes. "Sau." she reiterates, the name tasting bad on her tongue.
There's a short delay before Guang Huan's voice comes back. "Mr. Sun is currently in his office, he will see you there. Would you like me to show you the way?"
Jessica shakes her head. "No. I am fine!" she assures, stomping off in the direction she was already going. After a few steps she gains a look of confusion and pauses for a moment before turning back the other way. She takes a couple steps back the way she came and then comes to an abrupt stop once more. Frown carved into her features, she relents with another roll of her eyes. "Show me the way." she grumbles.
Guang materializes in the same shape as before, bowing politely. "Of course, right this way." With a gesture, the spectral figure leads the way down the corridor, stopping outside the door at the very end and stepping aside to wait for Jessica to enter.
Jessica clicks her tongue in annoyance, glaring at the VI and its weaponized politeness. It's doing that on purpose. She mutters something under her breath and follows it to the door, shooting a glare it's way before stepping through the door.
The door slides open to reveal a spacious, but somewhat spartan home office. The only furniture is bookshelves that line the walls on both sides, a lone armchair, and the desk behind which Sau sits, at the far end in front of another floor-to-ceiling window, a glimpse of one of the balcony trees visible through this one, and beyond that, city.
Sau simply watches Jessica and waits, expression tightly controlled and hands folded on his desk. He looks just a bit more casual than usual, having taken his tie off and unbuttoned the top button of his dress shirt. There's a bottle of Serrice Ice Brandy on the desk, as well as a glass that still has a splash in it.
Jessica draws a breath in through her nose as she meanders into the room, passing a brief glance around the room and noting that it has about as much personality as Sau himself. "You have my credits ready?" she asks plainly, her gaze settling on the man at the desk as she comes to a stop a few feet away from him.
Jessica's gaze drops to the floor for a moment and then she nods, slowly at first but it grows more firm. Just do it. Like a band-aid. "Mm." she hums. She can't spend the rest of the night thinking about it. Just... get it over with, before she has the chance to talk herself out of it. It's the right choice. It's the smart choice. All roads lead here anyway, might as well make a few credits. No, more than a few... "We
are-..." she trails off and swallows, her mouth suddenly dry, "...going out tonight. I will tell her that I am leaving when we are done." she explains. There's a shakiness to her words that weren't there previously. A bit of that fight drained since their last encounter. "I will be gone by the morning and you will not have to see me again, mm?"
Sau studies Jessica impassively for a time, and then nods. "Hm. So you have seen reason." He opens one of his desk drawers and takes out a stack of paperwork clipped together, sliding it over to Jessica. "This is the agreement you need to sign. My legal team has put this together. You will have no contact with my daughter after today, nor will you speak of your... relationship with her to anyone. In exchange, you will receive the agreed
Jessica's gaze moves from Sau to the stack of papers, a look of distaste on her face. She stares at them for a moment before shaking her head and drawing in another breath- as if to dispel her own hesitations- before stepping up to the desk. She thumbs the edge of the stack, flicking the edge of the paper, but it's obvious she has no intention of reading it. "And my credits...?" she asks as she glances around for something to sign it
Sau offers Jessica a sleek, expensive-looking ink pen. "...will be transferred your way once you have held up your end of the deal. And I assure you, any attempt at reneging will have consequences."
Jessica accepts the pen, but if his words were supposed to be intimidating, then they probably haven't landed as cleanly as he'd like. It causes her to stand up a little taller, her whole body turning to face him as she shifts closer, invading the edge of his personal space. Her gaze travels down him, then back up to his face before giving a slow roll of her shoulders. "Mm. I am verrry scared." she says flatly, her words dripping with
sarcasm. She holds his gaze for a moment longer before stepping back and returning her focus to the paperwork laid out on the desk.
Sau 's lips twist slightly, but that's his only reaction as he continues to wait for the signature that will finally rid him of this obnoxious intruder.
Jessica studies the paperwork in silence for a moment, her gaze scanning across it without reading before coming to rest on that line that's awaiting her name. The pen feels heavier than it should. Or maybe that's just her body's way of trying to hammer home what it is that she's signing away. The first sliver of happiness that she's experience in so long. Too long. Perhaps it's that voice, deep down,
begging her to to ask herself what's left if she gives away these last few months. Something broken. But that doesn't matter. After everything she's done- everything she's caused- maybe happiness just isn't in the cards for her. And some things just can't be fixed. Besides, this was never going to be more than just a fling. It couldn't be. They come from two different worlds- both literally and figuratively- which has
become painfully obvious this past week. And if, by some chance, they managed to turn this into something real, she would only end up dragging Yan Sun down with her. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it would happen eventually. She has the track record to prove it. So this is the answer. Yan Sun gets a shot at the life she deserves and she walks away with more credits than she knows what to do with. Everyone wins,
right? She blinks at the stinging in her eye and leans down, a thousand thoughts crashing together like waves on a beach as she presses the pen to the paper and then... silence. It's done. "You are a shit father." she says, a shimmer in her eye as she looks Sau's way before turning on her heels and starting towards the door.
Sau 's face twitches almost imperceptibly, but he offers no rebuttal, the same restrained sneer on his face until she's out of the room, at which point his shoulders slump, gaze lingering on the door for a long moment before he reaches for the bottle and refills his glass, a heavy sigh filling the barren room.
Jessica doesn't even seem to realize that she still has the pen in her hand until she's back in the hall. She rotates it between her fingers, her shoulders rising and falling with each heavy breath and her jaw clenched, worried that if she doesn't bite down she might just scream. So instead, she does the next best thing and whips the pen down the hall, sending it skittering across the floor towards the lounge. 'It's done' she tries
to remind herself. Deep breath. She licks at her lips, sniffing a few times before bringing her hand up to rub at her eye with her palm and blinking away the stinging. It's done. With a few nods to herself, she starts back towards Yan Sun's room, but she only gets a few steps before realizing her excuse for stepping out. She can't exactly return empty handed so, with a deep, frustrated breath, she turns back and
Jessica continues on her way, collecting a couple of Warp Colas just to keep up appearances before completing the circuit back towards the bedroom. But as she reaches the door she comes to a stop, hesitating for a moment, trying to convince herself that this was the right choice. No, it was the only choice. And yet she still has that sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. At least it's over with. Now she won't need to spend the rest
of the night agonizing over it. She can just enjoy their night together. Their last night together. Sucking in a deep breath, she steels herself and opens the bedroom door, stepping inside.
Yan Sun is, seemingly, still in the closet, given that the room is just as empty as when Jessica left it. If she heard the door open, she's not making it known.
Jessica seems a little more at ease upon seeing that Yan Sun isn't even done yet, meaning her longer-than-expected absence probably went unnoticed. She sets one of the colas on the desk and retakes her seat on the edge of the bed as she cracks open the other can, her thoughts a million miles away.
A minute or so passes before Yan Sun's voice sounds from behind the closed door. "Jessica? Are you back?"
Jessica jolts a bit as the voice sounds out, having been lost in her thoughts. "Mm!" she hums, standing from the edge of the bed and stepping over to the closet door. "What is taking you so long? You are not tangled up in your own clothes, are you?" she calls back, not bothering to wait for a response before opening the door, the grin she attempts to prop up not quite manifesting.
The door interface chimes as if it's going to open, but then it flickers, turns red, and makes an angry, negatory noise. "Hey! Get back to the bed!" Yan Sun protests from the other side. "I'm almost ready."
Jessica scoffs but Yan Sun's protests draw a smile out. A sincere smile despite herself. "You lock me out?!" she asks in disbelief. "After I even bring to you a Warp Cola?!" She gives another disapproving sound as she starts back towards the bed. "Fine! Fine! I am going!"
Yan Sun offers Jessica not a peep in response to her disbelief. It's only a moment before she calls out again though. "Okay, I'm done! Coming out!"
Yan Sun emerges from the closet with a flourish, a big, bright grin on her face. She twirls in a circle as she crosses the room, showing off her look. She has gone all out in preparation for their night out. She's styled her hair, done her makeup, with the same dramatic black eyeshadow and blue lipstick that she usually favors. Her nails, too, have received a fresh coat of blue. Her outfit, though, is something wholly new, no longer
restrained by the limited wardrobe that she had with her on leaving Earth. She's wearing tall, chunky black boots covered in a truly excessive number of buckles, black thigh high socks with glowing blue stripes that constantly, slowly, migrate up her legs to the thighs. Above that she's wearing a black, pleated miniskirt, with sharp, uneven pleats that give the impression of jagged shards. The skirt is short enough that there's a
glimpse of bare skin covered only by fishnet leggings above the socks. Her top is a form-fitting black tanktop with a glowing holographic image on the front - specifically, the image of Yan Sun's cat self that Jessica drew her. The image is animated, shooting Jessica a cutesy wink. Over the top, she's 'wearing' - for lack of a better word - a blue holographic vest, the visual not dissimilar to the tech armor sometimes worn by
well-equipped fighters. Quite a few accessories complete the look - a thick silver ear cuff around the top of her left ear, several bracelets, a few studded, and others just black strings, and around her neck a choker with a small o-ring, as well as a black string necklace with an abstracted silver mass relay at the end, the 'eezo core' a sparkling, almost glowing gemstone. "What do you think?" she asks enthusiastically, coming to a
Jessica is in the middle of taking a sip of her cola when the door slides open and, when she spots Yan Sun, she has to lean forward slightly to keep from spilling her drink, a big grin spreading across her face. That heaviness that had been weighing on her shoulders seems to slip away and she seems momentarily at a loss for words as Yan Sun comes spinning to a stop in front of her. Once she's regained her bearings, she makes a show of
looking her up and down, tongue idly poking at the piercing on the inside of her cheek. The goofy animated cat draws a snicker out of her and she shakes her head but, as her gaze meets Yan Sun's, there's something in the way she looks at her. Something genuine. Maybe even a little sad. But she's quick to sweep that under the rug, reaching out with her free hand to lazily pluck at the top of one of Yan Sun's thigh-high socks with
Yan Sun looks just a little flustered as Jessica makes a point of looking her over, but her grin takes on a pleased tone, and she continues to wait for her verdict. Her eyes turn soft on Jessica meeting her gaze, and there's the faintest crease between her eyebrows as she picks up on something she can't place. She doesn't have time to figure it out, and she's quick to acquiesce when urged closer, stepping up right in front of Jessica and
Jessica continues to study Yan Sun for just a moment longer as she stows the can of soda between her legs to free up her other hand. She lifts it up, hooking her index finger into the ring of the choker and using it to tug Yan Sun down. Her other hand shifts to the back of her partner's thigh, holding her in place as she rises up just a hair to press a hard kiss against Yan Sun's lips. There's a hunger in her kiss that feels driven,
pent up, almost aggressive even. She lingers in it, nearly breathless by the time she loosens her grip. Using the hand that was gripping Yan Sun's choker, she presses a playful shove against the woman's collarbone and leans back against her palm. "That is what I am thinking about it, kitty cat." she says through a mischievous grin.
Yan Sun 's surprised noise as she's pulled down is quickly muffled by the kiss, but she's quick to return it, swept up in the intensity. Her hands find their way to Jessica just in time for her to be shoved back, making her stagger, legs a little wobbly as she straightens up, a dazed, flustered look on her face. "Well. Uh. That... that is the response I was going for," she says with a breathless chuckle, reaching up to scratch her neck, gaze
flicking away. Her face is flushed bright, and her just-applied lipstick is looking a little smudged, but there's a grin on her lips and look in her eyes that's equal parts excitement and sincere affection as her eyes meet Jessica's again.
